Excessive engine fuel consumption means that its fuel consumption of 100 kilometers exceeds the prescribed standard value, which is much larger than normal.
Reasons for excessive engine fuel consumption:
1. Fault of mechanical parts of motor.
2. The coolant temperature sensor is abnormal.
3. Abnormal air Flowmeter or intake pressure sensor.
4. The throttle position sensor is abnormal.
5. Fuel pressure is too high.
6. Fuel injector leakage.
7. Failure of oxygen sensor.
8. Ignition system failure.
Troubleshooting of motor maintenance:
1. Check the mechanical failure of the engine, check whether the exhaust system is blocked and the working condition of the thermostat of the cooling system.
2. When measuring the coolant temperature sensor, the resistance at different temperatures should conform to the standard.
3. When testing the air Flowmeter or intake pressure sensor, its value should be in line with the standard.
4. Check the throttle position sensor.
5. Measure fuel pressure.
6. Check the ignition high pressure energy and ignition timing.
7. Disassemble the injector and check each injector for oil leakage. If there is anything abnormal, the injector should be cleaned or replaced.
